Doing “Miserable” The Pattaya Way
No matter where you live in the world there’s no escaping the mood of doom and gloom all around us. Unless you belong to the cash rich club (lucky you!), chances are that things aren’t quite what they were over the last couple of years. In the case of Pattaya, many of its visitors have in the past holidayed here two, three or four times a year as a matter of routine — and a very appealing one at that! But the general global economic problems have brought the possibility of being able to continue this practice into doubt. Less cash circulating in business generally leads to less for the extras in life like those essential additional get-aways during the year. Not a great scenario for anyone who falls into that category. Not only do they have to deal with missing out on spending some much needed ‘relaxation’ time in Pattaya but may also have to put up with the weather, high prices and the general doom and gloom attitude of many of the people all around them at home. On the other hand if you’re an expat and living here in Pattaya, well then you can do “miserable” the Pattaya way — great weather, fantastic social life, cheap beer, great food, a low cost of living and lots of Thai smiles every day. So what if the exchange rate isn’t what it used to be, life in Pattaya is still unbeatable . . . world recession or not!
