Welcome to the new Visa section on mypattaya website

Visas Plus

Welcome to the new Visa section on mypattaya website. As many of the viewers are from overseas we are trying to offer some advice to them so, apologies if it is old news for the residents, may still be useful.
The first problem with saying anything in Pattaya and especially if it is about visas is that someone will tell you otherwise so, our caveat, we try to be as up to date and accurate as possible. If you need some more help you are welcome to call into our office which is situated next to the British Consulate and near Jomtien/Pattaya Immigration. See our web site for opening details and telephone numbers, also for our UK office number.
Just to put matters in perspective, we have seen many (over a hundred) of different visas stamps issued by various consulates from around the world for Thailand and those issued locally. However whatever people may think Thailand does not change the rules very often merely enforces them from time to time. Other countries also change such as the UK with sometimes variations on these, not all one way.

When you come Thailand and have not obtained a visa beforehand, you will be granted a 30 day on arrival stamp (not a visa); this allows you to stay for 30 days at the end of which you may (not always) be granted a further 7 days.
So number one, if you plan to come to Thailand for a longer holiday apply to your local Consulate (by phone) not Embassy and obtain a visa, could be a sixty day tourist (TR) or whatever you think will be enough.
If you are coming with the intention of retiring (need to be over 50) then apply for an ‘O’ visa single or multiple (latter is best).
That’s just two examples for now.

Visa runs, most of you have heard of them. What it means is that if you want to stay and your permission will run out, well we offer a visa run, takes one day and will allow you to stay for a further 15 days, you can do as many as you like and can stomach. Alternatively you can fly out and get a 30 permission or we can arrange 90 days. Confused, then take advice.

Visas to other countries for your Thai partner (male or female). Every country is different and one thing we stress is that whilst we have a 100% record over our eight years of trading (Thai nationals), we are not the decision makers, it is the Entry Clearance Officer of the country involved, so we cannot give those so called guarantees.
Let’s dispel some ‘bar talk’, ‘marry the Lady (same sex marriages are not allowed in Thailand) and it makes it easier’. Wrong, it will depend on the individual case.
Had a refusal, ‘no problem’, well this may be the case but lets talk first. We advocate calling in for a FREE ‘chat’. Bring with you your passports, (including old ones) any refusal notice from any country and tell us about your plans.
At this stage we would like to bring to your attention our policy, it is also on the office wall in Thai and English. We ask you to tell us the TRUTH, does not matter what it is and remember the chances are we have heard it before. If we know everything ‘warts and all’ we can make a better judgement and advise accordingly, it also makes for fewer surprises later. On this point if an incorrect statement is made on the visa application form then the applicant may not be allowed to apply for a visa for up to ten years depending on the severity and, remember that the western countries share information.
Having made an assessment and this can take us a couple of days as we always run it through at least two of the team English and Thai we will advise you accordingly, still FREE. It is then up to you to decide whether to use our services, cannot be fairer can we? If you use our services we will quote exactly our charges, what else you need to budget for and we will keep to them.

We have English nationals in both our Thai and UK offices; Lloyd may be in the UK continuing his cpd (continued professional development on immigration) but with the marvels of the internet can still answer most questions.
So, have a question then email us at plusvisas@gmail.com, visit our office in Jomtien, call Kevin in the UK on 01745 585894 or visit our website www.visas-plus.com where you will find our charges explained

We also provide for those in Thailand lots of other services, obtaining new passports, translation of birth, marriage and death etc, assistance in getting a visa to stay, all prices on our website
Cheers for now +Visas Plus+
