Boyztown Pattaya - The Gay Scene

Pattaya is known for its sex scene, but is better described as a fun night entertainment town where anything goes and is tolerated. It’s Thailand’s naughtiest city and although many associate it with all the girlie bars, it also has an exciting boy bar scene and is probably the most gay friendly place in a gay friendly country.

Lots of gay people come to Pattaya, either as tourists or to settle. The reason is obvious, lots of cute boys. By nature Thai boys are very good looking and trim, they are blessed with sexy bodies and nice gentle characters, they make great companions and boyfriends. A lot also work in bars and are happier with casual sex and fun. Some aren’t even gay, but find the whole gay scene fun and lucrative.

Boyztown Pattaya is the main focus of the Pattaya gay scene, but is mainly geared towards tourists, and local gays have many more discreet and exclusive options once you get in among the ‘crowd’. At Boyztown anything goes, and you’ll find all sorts of exciting, stylish, flirtatious and serious venues.

The area includes the likes of the popular Boyz Boyz Boyz disco, The Body Club, cosy Funny Boys bar, Throb revue bar, and long-running Panorama bar. There are many more places here and in the adjacent sois (lanes), the best part of it is you can wander around and see what (or who) tickles your fancy darling!

Compared to the girlie bar areas, Boyztown is far more fun and stylish, and packed with cute boys, in cute outfits, with inviting smiles. They all speak English well, and will take care of your every desire. The process is very similar to the ‘how it works and how much’ described in the girlie pages. You buy them drinks, they take care of you. If you like someone you agree to a rate and go back to your hotel together. Prices range from as little as 10 euros (when its low season, or the boy isn’t popular) up to 50 euros or more. You also have to pay a ‘bar fine’ which is about 5 euros payable to the bar for taking one of their boys out of the bar.

The main difference between Boyztown and the girlie section, is that the gay scene is far more down to earth. Expect drag shows and caberets, boys dressed in wonderfully camp outfits, acting outrageously (you’ll have a hard on in no time), and most importantly a relaxed gay-friendly atmosphere were you can feel completely at home. The ‘underwater performance at Splash’ is an absolute must see.

Of course some of the boys are pure ‘rent boys’ – standing there looking bored or desperate, others are ‘Roman athletes’ demanding to be oggled. You can also find quiet lounge bars if you prefer privacy and a more discreet or quiet, refined, atmosphere. There are also restaurants and gay-friendly hotels nearby.

Even walking down beach road hand in hand with your companion for the night won’t even turn a single head, anything goes in Thailand, it’s a country made for us gays.
