Why Travel to Thailand?

"My culture shock was not traveling to Bangkok, Thailand. No! Instead, my culture shock was returning to Chicago and the United States. It made me want to throw up!"  -Amsterdam Rios

Why travel to Thailand?

  • Because it is the experience of a lifetime. It will change your life forever.
  • Because it is the 'Land of Smiles.'
  • Because it is extremely dirt-cheap.
  • Because the people are friendly.
  • Because the women are beautiful.
  • Because it is exotic and erotic.
  • Because it has a lot of culture.
  • Because it is exciting.
  • Because. Just because.

Food

Thailand has a lot to offer to any traveler. For example, the food is quite unlike no other food you have ever eaten. There are street vendors selling from chicken feet and sausages to cockroaches and grasshoppers.

There is also the always so favorite 'dog' to be eaten by animal lovers. There are also, all kind of restaurants with a wide variety of cuisine. There is chicken, rice and hot peanuts to be eaten with vegetables.

There is also extremely spicy food that will make you shit your brains out for hours.  There are also all kinds of exotic fruits to be tasted as well.

It is important to state that Thais drink beer with ice.  Because of the tropical weather year round, Thais believe that beer will get warm if it is not had with a cup of ice.

Entertainment

There is wide variety of entertainment to indulge in, in Thailand.  From world class shopping malls to karaoke bars to the infamous red-light districts to katoey (ladyboys) cabarets to outdoor cafes to beautiful beaches.

The 'Land of Smiles' is a country like no other else.  Its giant temples and statues of the Buddha God displayed everywhere shows that it is rich in culture and history.

Hotels

Thailand has a wide range of hotels suitable for any traveler's budget. There are hotels ranging from $5.00 - $150 a night. Take your pick. There are few hotels that even have a go-go bar inside. There are also hotels with massage parlors that provide all kinds of massages and I mean all kinds of massages.

Conclusion?

To conclude or not to conclude?  Well, Thailand offers a lot more than what has been mentioned.  I believe I would just share a little about what Thailand has to offer and what I experienced during my 3 weeks of adventure in the "Land of Smiles."

It is important to state that Thailand is not for everyone.  Why? Because it will take you by surprise. One can be easily shocked by the Thai people and their rich culture.

For example, during the Vietnam War, there were many U.S. soldiers that were stationed throughout Thailand. When it was time for them to leave, many of the U.S. soldiers decided to go AWOL and remain in Thailand forever.

Why?  Because they were treated like kings. They realized the U.S. dollar was very powerful in Thailand.

In addition, the Thai people were extremely friendly to the soldiers and welcomed them into their precious country.

It has been stated that only 7% of Americans have a passport which means Americans simply just don't travel.  And because Americans don't travel, they become close-minded and ignorant to outside world(s).

Americans believe NY, LA, Miami, Chicago and Vegas is everything.  Let me tell you something, you haven't seen shit!

If you ask me if I recommend Thailand for your next trip. My response is hell no!  You simply will not like it. Stay in the U.S. where you belong.  As for me, I'm heading back to Thailand ASAP!
