Why go to sois 6, 7 and 8? | Pattaya

Well, there are lots of reasons, but the main one is that you will, if you are a single man, have a great time, whatever you want to do, in any, or all of them. ‘Soi’ is the Thai name for ‘streets or lanes’ and the numbers usually run consecutively so they are easy to find.

Soi 6 in Central Pattaya, between Beach Road and 2nd Road is just a 10 baht taxi ride from Walking Street, South Pattaya, at the big intersection on 2nd Road. Once you get to the top of Soi 6 (having noticed the road numbers) just stop the taxi, walk down and decide what you want. If you are staying in North Pattaya do exactly the same from Beach Road and walk ‘up’.

There are English, Australian, Scandinavian and European pubs, food and bars, go-go bars and girly-bars, more girl bars and, with the exception of a fair few kathoeys, (“very realistic lady-boys who can be hard to spot for the newcomer to Pattaya”), plenty of bar girls.

A lot of these bars and entertainments have rooms upstairs, and are aimed at the “short-time” western man, suggesting an hour-or-so`s sex after a few drinks.

Rather than a ‘bar-fine’ to take your ‘new’ lady out of the bar and back to your room, you are invited to go ‘up-stairs’ to a room, negotiate a fee and leave when you have ‘finished’ an hour or so later, leaving both room and lady, having cleaned up, to find the next willing “Sexy-man” for a “short-time”.

A walk down Beach Road to Sois 7&8 when you get to the bottom of Soi 6 is best accomplished on the sea side of the road where many ladies (but also kathoeys) gather to show their wares and availability.

Crossing back over Beach Road, soon after the Pattaya Klang junction, you will see Soi 7 with a go-go bar at the bottom of the soi. English, European and International restaurants/guesthouses with ‘real grub’ such as “steak-and-kidney pudding and mushy peas”, for people who are ‘not quite attuned to the Thai diet’ line the way up to beer bars and more beer bars and behind every bar or counter there are girls.

Lots and lots and lots of girls to get your drinks and look after you, and to ask you whether you will pay her ‘bar-fine’ of 200 baht-or-more and take her out of the bar and back to your hotel for “boom-boom”, which will cost you between 500 and 1000 baht (a bit more for the ‘real crackers’)?

You may, perhaps, wake up one day and realise that your new girlfriend really loves you to the very depths of your wallet. However you have been having such a good time with her in Pattaya that you suddenly find that your 2 weeks is nearly up and you’re due at the airport that night.

You quickly pack all your bits, give your ‘girlfriend’ all your spare Baht because you can’t export them, (which apparently varies between 500 and 100,000 baht per girl), and say you will send more every month.

You then ‘bugger off home’.

You may be to be in contact with her on your return to your own home?…. or maybe not.

The parallel Soi 8, for which there are actually quite a few cut-throughs between Soi 7 and 8, has bars left-and-right with girls everywhere. At the bottom of the soi, towards the beach, are some really good live bands and more food and many, many more girls.

i recently went to pattaya i thought i was the best place ive been on holiday i drank all day and night but still had good holiday i fell for the early tricks by these girls beliveing there stories you need a while to work them out once youve been once you should be clued right up for the next outing i will be say safe have fun.....
