Gay Areas of Pattaya

Pattaya, if you’re gay, can give you whatever you want in a truly welcoming background. There is virtually no discrimination and you can really relax in an atmosphere of comfort untouched by most safety fears.

There are three concentrated areas in Pattaya specifically targeted by gay residents and tourists alike. Thailand in general and Pattaya in particular has a remarkably tolerant attitude towards gays and they welcome you with big smiles and open hearts.

In Pattaya there are hundreds of good looking Thai gay boys working in the bars, restaurants, massage parlours, discos and even on the gay beach.

Pattayaland just up Beach Road from Walking Street has a profusion of gay bars, massage parlours, discos and even one whole soi (road) called “Boyztown”. These are interspersed with girly bars, bikers’ bars and the odd restaurant which appears more in keeping with daytime Pattaya.

The three sois form a square of gay nightlife. You simply pick the venues, what or who you fancy and try it out. They are quite happy if you move on after one drink if it’s not your scene.

Inland 5/600 metres from half-way down Walking Street from Beach Road is the gay area around Soi VC (the VC hotel is at the end on the other side of Pratumnak Road).

There are many gay bars all along this street and off to the right, halfway up is a smaller lane full of neon with clubs, bars, dancing, boys clubs and much more called Sunee Plaza.

Further up Soi VC, or you can walk up South Pattaya Road from the beach end, you cannot miss the ‘Day and Night Hotel’. Around and behind the hotel is a large variety of gay venues. Some very smart bars are in this area as well as some very good restaurants all with mainly gay patronage.

Many of these are very good value for money, others are very smart and very expensive. You are likely to be served by very good looking Thai boys in any of these restaurants, or indeed in the local bars, massage parlours or clubs.

“Hollywood” just off South Pattaya Road is a large music venue and features bands playing Thai and Western music as well as having a disco.

There are quite a few gay hotels in the area and others within very easy reach. These hotels sometimes have spas and massage facilities, with handsome, friendly Thai young men to cater for your every need. At busy times it’s worth booking ahead if you want the special treatment you get at one of the better ones.

Outside Pattaya, around 20 minutes by car at the end of Jomtien is a gay beach, You can find it on the long extension of Jomtien Beach , and starts when the road veers away from the coast. This beach has similar services to the ones on the popular beaches, with chairs, umbrellas, food and drink vendors and bars.

Many gay people like to stay at one of the gay hotels in Jomtien that are convenient for this gay beach, the only one in Thailand.

I came to Pattaya first time 1997. 2day its NOT the same. Here is still Money no 1. I meat my boyfriend in a gayplace. Exxit. Its gone now. That was in 2003. I fell im love, like the most tourists do here. I went home, I sold everything I had, and did divorce after 23 years. I live hear now, with same guy i meat in exxit. Its a nice country 2 live in. But be careful and dont listen 2 much of the guys talking. They will have problem, and only problems that they want you to solve. From clothes to that he need a house. And the job they have, yes its a work, is not any feelings involved. The most of the guys are not gay. But they do whatever they have to, 2 survive. That boys, and girls lie 2 you about 80%. Hi i have allways found the guys in the Bars whether Gay or Straight give you 100%as long as you give the agreed amonnt of cash. Who gives a monkeys aunt which way they swing if not in the bar as long as your happy and remember if you where there age would you do it with you without the cash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just returned after 3 weeks in Land of Smiling Faces, including three days in Pattaya. I personally had a great time,with one exception- was brought to a bar off Soi 15, which was to have a big cock show- as in Bangkok and ChiangMai. All eleven other guests of the bar left when the mamasan asked everybody to pay extra for more show. But, the massages were great. The bar prancing was candy . Personally I preferred Phukett beach. I have been to Pattaya about 26 times in the last 16 Years. having the same boyfriend until last year for 15 years he then stole my credit card to by a motorbike. I had always been his personal ATM he is now in prison I am now surporting his child in school his wife only stayed for three days when the baby was born..
