Pattaya Beach Bus

Pattaya City has introduced a new air-conditioned bus service with scheduled stops along designated routes. This bus service is esigned to help tourists get around the resort city, the Pattaya beach bus service consists of three lines - Green, Red and Yellow. These cover the main streets of Pattaya, Naklua and Jomtien respectively

Each line has been assigned a different colour to make it easier for passengers to identify the routes. Bus stops are also colour coded and numbered so passengers know where to board and disembark.

Pattaya Beach Bus

The modern microbuses seat thirty people in air-conditioned comfort and literally ‘embody’ Pattaya's image as a vibrant, fresh and fun leisure destination. The bus bodies has bright and breezy designs.

Each line has its own fixed clockwise and counter-clockwise routes, making a total of six routes, served by three buses per route from 6.00 am to 2.00 am the following day.

ROUTES

All routes start out from Big C supermarket, Sukhumvit Road and Pattaya.

Pattaya Bus Routes

Green Line (Pattaya)
Big C - South Pattaya Road - Pattaya Two Road (reverse route = Beach Road) - Dolphin Roundabout - Naklua Road - Soi Potisan - Sukhumvit Road (back to Big C).

Red Line (Jomtien)
Big C - Sukhumvit Road - Soi Chaiyapruek - Jomtien Beach Road - Dongtan Corner - Thappraya Road over the hill - Pattaya Two Road (reverse route = Beach Road) - Dolphin Roundabout - Naklua Road - Banglamung Police Station - Sukhumvit Road - Kratinglai intersection (u-turn) - Sukhumvit Road - Soi Chaiyapruek (u-turn) - Big C.

Yellow Line (Naklua)
Big C - Sukhumvit Road - Thepprasit Road - Thappraya Road over the hill - Pattaya Three Road - North Pattaya Road - Dolphin Roundabout - North Pattaya Road - Sukhumvit Road (back to Big C)

FARES

A 30-baht one-way ticket can be used on any of the routes. Visitors will also be able to purchase one-day passes at 90 baht, three-day passes at 180 baht, and one-month passes for 900 baht. Tickets are available at shopping centres, hotels and convenience stores. Tourists can use the passes as many times as they like during their validity, making them very cost effective with frequent use.

Pattaya Beach Bus Co. Ltd believes that the new service provides an inexpensive way for tourists and visitors to discover more of Pattaya. The company plans to produce tourist maps with attractions nearby each bus stop marked. This will help travellers plan their own day trips.

Future plans include the addition of facilities for wheelchairs to assist handicapped persons, and the introduction of open-deck tourist buses for sightseeing in 2006.
