Stop Buying!!!

Child prostitution in Thailand has increased immensely. Nearly, half of them instead of being at school are snarled into “Prostitution” some to repay their family debt and some completely oblivious of it.

I am aghast at how young boys under the age of 12 years old are lured into having sex with pedophiles in exchange with some money or goodies for each session.

And once they get use to this easy means to meet ends they sink deeper n deeper into it without any knowledge of HIV AIDS or other sexual diseases. Their own beloved country has turned to quicksand beneath their feet.

Among these Thai children there are also a lot of children who are smuggled into the kingdom illegally from the neighboring countries like Burma , Laos , Cambodia , Vietnam to beg on streets, beer bars, beaches, stations. In which, I truly believe that some border authorities are also involved.

Meanwhile, about 10% of Thai children go to school in the morning and sell flower garlands, bubble gums, cigarettes, tissues after school in traffic areas.

Frequently, I have read about government trying to solve the problem despite of knowing everything I still see no satisfying result.

In Pattaya endless charity places has opened where these homeless children are given love, food, shelter and education for their better tomorrow.

Examples fountain of life, Pattaya welfare department , mercy center. And also there are charity clubs who raise money for these unfortunate children.

I believe if we all join our hands together NOBODY can snatch away their childhood from them and this world will be a much better place to live in.

Sad thing is No social welfare help in Thailand and rest of third world countries, that had pushed the pressure on poor families to sell their children to prositution. Government is mostly responsible for those happenings. Added by: jocky    Report abuse

Thank you so much for this article,I HATE PEDOFILES, how these DISGUSTING old or young men can abuse children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor children! Could you please do something!!! How can Thai government and people in general allowed foreigners to come to this beautiful land and abuse children!!! Are they mad and blind??? I am very very angry and upset!!! How can I help? I have just finished reading your artical. I agree with everything you said. I would like to see some good changes in Thailand. However being as pesamistic as I am I'm not sure you or I will see any great change in our life. I think the best you or I can do is to keep trying and in the mean time at least help those who will listen or want to be helped. It's just like you said, after a certain age they don't want help.
